Mission Statement
The American Furniture Hall of Fame Foundation, Inc., is an international, industry-wide organization founded to research, collect and preserve our cultural, economic and artistic history, as well as to honor those individuals whose outstanding achievements have contributed to the continued growth and development of the U.S. furniture industry.
History
The American Furniture Hall of Fame Foundation, Inc. was founded on George Washington’s birthday, February 22, 1988, by a group of nine executives who recognized the need to preserve the rich heritage of the furniture history.
The American Furniture Hall of Fame Foundation, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) corporation. Funding is derived from the gifts, pledges, grants and memorials of companies, organizations, individuals and families associated with the home furnishings industry. Foundation funds are used for archival care and education projects by universities, schools, libraries, museums, researchers, authors, individuals and television programming.
